Older Garmin GPS receivers such as the III+, Emap or GPS Map12 are ‘map capable’ but they have limited memory and T4A GPS Maps cannot be uploaded. However, Tracks4Africa provides a special compilation called T4A Maps Light which will fit onto these older ‘map capable’ units. The Light version does not have memory-intensive data such as contour lines, national parks and reserves boundaries and outlines, slightly lower resolution tracks, geographical features, etc. These reductions allow individual map sizes to be no larger than about 1Mb.
This T4A Maps Light version is not available on our web site. To get it you must first buy either the T4A GPS Maps - Traveller’s Africa CD or a full set of T4A GPS Maps online. Thereafter please contact our offices and we will let you have the T4A Maps Light.
